Recipe Scaler
Scale any recipe up or down instantly — paste ingredients, get clean fractions, all in your browser.
Scale any recipe in seconds
Enter the number of servings the original recipe makes, the number of servings you need, then paste your ingredient list one line per line. Each line that starts with a number — whether an integer, decimal, simple fraction like 1/2, or mixed number like 1 1/2 — is scaled automatically. Quantities are displayed as clean fractions where possible (1/4, 1/2, 3/4) so you can read them at a glance without a calculator.
Lines that do not start with a number, such as "Salt to taste" or preparation instructions, are passed through unchanged. The scaler works on the ratio of desired to original servings, so it handles both scaling up (doubling, tripling) and scaling down (halving) equally well.
FAQ
Why are some quantities shown as decimals? When a scaled quantity does not fall near a common kitchen fraction (1/8 through 7/8), the tool displays it as a decimal rounded to two places for accuracy.
Does it scale cooking times? No. Cooking time depends on pan size, oven temperature, and thickness — not just quantity. Scale ingredients here, then consult the original recipe for time guidance.
Is my data sent anywhere? No. All scaling runs locally in your browser.
