Running Pace Calculator

Calculate running pace, time, or distance from any two inputs — runs entirely in your browser.

How the running pace calculator works

Enter any two of the three values — distance, time, or pace — and the calculator instantly derives the third. Pace is expressed as minutes and seconds per kilometre (min/km) in metric mode or minutes and seconds per mile (min/mi) in imperial mode. Time can be entered as MM:SS for runs under an hour or H:MM:SS for longer efforts. All arithmetic runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

The tool is useful for race planning, training zone calibration, and treadmill speed conversion. Switch the unit toggle to move between metric and imperial without re-entering values. Use the "Solve for" toggle to choose which field you want calculated.

FAQ

What is running pace? Pace is the time it takes to cover one unit of distance — one kilometre or one mile. A pace of 5:00 min/km means each kilometre takes five minutes. Lower pace values indicate faster running.

How do I convert between min/km and min/mi? Multiply min/km by 1.60934 to get min/mi, or divide min/mi by 1.60934 to get min/km. Switch the unit toggle in this tool and re-enter your known value to have the conversion done automatically.

Is my data stored? No. All calculations happen client-side in JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or logged.
