Explore every element

This interactive periodic table shows all 118 known chemical elements arranged in the classic 18-column layout, with the lanthanide and actinide series displaced below. Each cell shows the atomic number, symbol and name, with a subtle colour tint marking its category — alkali metals, transition metals, noble gases, halogens and so on. Tap or click any element to open a panel with its full details: atomic number, symbol, name, atomic mass, category, group and period.

How to use it

Type a name, symbol or atomic number into the search box to highlight matching elements — for example "gold", "Fe" or "26". Clear the box to see the whole table again. Everything runs in your browser, so the table works offline and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Atomic masses are the IUPAC standard atomic weights; for elements with no stable isotope, the value shown is the mass number of the most stable isotope.

FAQ

How many elements are on the periodic table? There are 118 confirmed elements, from hydrogen (1) to oganesson (118). All of them are included here.

What is the atomic number? The atomic number is the number of protons in an atom's nucleus. It uniquely identifies the element and sets its position in the table.

Why are the lanthanides and actinides shown separately? The 15-element lanthanide and actinide series are pulled out into two rows below the main table so the chart stays a manageable width; in a strict layout they belong between groups 2 and 3 of periods 6 and 7.

Why do some atomic masses appear without many decimals? Elements without a stable isotope have no standard atomic weight, so the mass shown is the mass number of their most stable known isotope.
