The traditional list pairs each year with a material — paper for the 1st, wood for the 5th, silver for the 25th, gold for the 50th — while the modern list, popularised in the 20th century, suggests updated alternatives such as clocks, diamonds, or watches. If you enter a wedding date, the tool counts the whole years elapsed to today and looks up that anniversary for you.
This is the widely used US version of the list. Gift names are shown in English as a reference; the full year-by-year table below covers years 1 through 25 and then the milestone anniversaries 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 70 and 75. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.
FAQ
What is the difference between traditional and modern gifts? The traditional list assigns a material to each year (paper, cotton, leather…), while the modern list offers contemporary alternatives that became popular in the 20th century. Either is appropriate.
What is the 25th wedding anniversary gift? The 25th is the silver anniversary, for both the traditional and modern lists.
Why are some years missing from the table? After year 25, gifts are traditionally assigned only to five-year milestones (30, 35, 40…). Years not in the list have no standard gift.
