Make a custom emoji from text

Type one to four characters — like LGTM, OK, BRB, or a single letter — and this tool draws it onto a 128×128 canvas, the size Slack, Discord, and most chat apps expect for custom emoji. Pick the text color and background color, choose a font, and switch between a square or circle shape. The preview updates as you type, and the font size shrinks automatically so longer text still fits the box.

Everything happens in your browser. Your text never leaves your device, there are no uploads, and there is no sign-up. When you are happy with the result, download a transparent or solid PNG and upload it to your workspace as a custom emoji.

How to add a custom emoji

In Slack, open your emoji menu and choose Add Emoji, then upload the PNG and give it a name. In Discord, open Server Settings, go to Emoji, and click Upload Emoji. Both accept PNG files up to 128×128, which is exactly what this tool produces.

FAQ

What size are Slack and Discord emoji? Both use 128×128 pixels. This tool always exports at that size so your emoji looks crisp without resizing.

Can I make a transparent emoji? Yes. Tick the transparent background option and the PNG is exported with no background, so only your text shows.

How many characters can I use? Up to twelve, but one to four read best at emoji size. Two words are automatically stacked on two lines.

Are my emoji uploaded anywhere? No. The image is drawn entirely in your browser with a canvas, so nothing is sent to a server.
